Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) Project22.05.2014
On September 20, 1994 “Contract of the Century” was signed between Azerbaijan and 11 foreign oil companies from six foreign nations. The contract covered the development of an area that covered three major oil fields in the Azerbaijan sector of the Caspian Sea – Azeri, Chirag and Deepwater portion of the Gunashli field (ACG).
The field is operated by BP on behalf of the Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC). ACG is a complex of 6 production platforms (Chirag 1, Central Azeri, West Azeri, East Azeri, Deepwater Gunashli, and West Chirag) and 2 process, gas compression, water injection and utilities platform. The project consists of 4 main phases. Fabrication of most jacket and piles has been implemented by BOS Shelf LLC based on request by AIOC.
Central Azeri Platform
Completed 3 months ahead of schedule– in December 2003. Production started in early 2005.
West Azeri Platform
Completed 2 months ahead of schedule – in May 2005. Production started in December 2005.
East Azeri Platform
Completed 4 months ahead of schedule– in November 2005. Production started in late 2006.
Deepwater Gunashli – Drilling, Utilities and Quarters (DUQ) Platform
Completed 1 month ahead of schedule– in October 2006.
Deepwater Gunashli – Process, Compression, Water Injection and Utilities (PCWU) Platform
Completed one month ahead of schedule – in May 2007.
Production started in April 2008.
West Chirag – Production, Drilling and Quarter s (PDQ) Platform
Competed in October 2012.
It is the largest platform with 18200 te weight fabricated ever in BDJF yard.
Production started on January 28, 2014.
